A Message from Blair
My name is Blair McElroy and I am recently a graduate from the University of Alabama as of May 2015. I finished with a major in Telecommunications and Film and a minor in Microcomputer Applications. I am incredibly excited to take my first steps into the real world. In my time studying broadcasting, I developed multiple editing skills and bettered my shooting, writing, interviewing, and all-around broadcasting skills. I was given opportunities to come up with my own packages and standups, and a special insight into the world I've grown so fond to.
I have been fortunate enough to get the chance to gain experience and knowledge through two prior internships. My first internship was with the Dallas Cowboys Media Department and was my first understanding of a professionally run news and media organziation. I got to practice filming multiple standups and getting comfortable in the world of sports news. The following summer I got to spend in Bristol, Connecticut interning at ESPN's headquarters. I worked on the previously-named show "Numbers Never Lie" and spent my days shadowing such admirable talent, Michael Smith and Jamele Hill, along with other prized ESPN reporters and anchors. The two internships drastically improved my editing and writing skills, as well as boosting my confidence with the world of being "on-air".
